Dear Imago Dei family,
With 2018 fast approaching, we find ourselves in the heart of the Advent season. I hope this Advent is filled with hope for you and your family. I am grateful to be part of a community that shares the generosity of Jesus with the world around us.
Looking back at 2017, I am impressed with how Jesus has led us to share His love. From eight water projects bringing clean water to thousands of children and families in Kenya, to sending teams and supplies to assist with the Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts in Houston, to local work in so many areas of the city it would literally take too many pages to list. You have always responded graciously and generously.
As we reflect on God's provision for us in 2017, we also anticipate His provision for the year to come. While we are right in the middle of our fiscal year (which ends in June), the month of December has always been key in our ability to reach our budgetary goal. Meeting this goal allows us to continue to fully engage in the beautiful mission we believe God has invited us to participate in. As we come to the last two Sundays in December, we still need about $420,000 to meet our fiscal mid-year projected budget. One of our practices as a church family is generosity, which is simply the response of God’s people to how generous He has been to us. I would ask that you pray for God’s provision for our church family. I also encourage you to ask God to show you how He might want you to participate in helping us meet this goal.
We know that whatever the end of the year brings us, God will be faithful to us, and He will take care of His people. We will stand in a place of faith and trust in Jesus, who we celebrate at Advent as our King who has come to be Emmanuel, God with Us.
May this Christmas be a time of deep Joy in Christ,
